We offer a variety of volunteer opportunities seasonally and throughout the year.

For more information about any of the volunteer opportunities below, please contact:

Paige Day

Corporate and Community Relations Specialist

Closet Organizers - We need volunteers to organize the donations of clothing and other items we receive from the community, to make them readily available to our clients.

Holiday Giving Program - Organized and implemented by volunteers, our Holiday Giving Program matches local donors, who provide food and gifts with families in need served by our agency. The volunteer committee meets year-round to coordinate the program. Additional volunteers are also appreciated in November and December to assist with short-term tasks, such as sorting and wrapping gifts, and helping set up the distribution facility.

Friends of Community Solutions - Our friends help support the fundraising activities of the agency. Friends plan and implement various fundraising activities throughout the year. Members can be involved on an on-going basis, or for specific events.

Community Service Hours - Due to the nature of the services our agency provides, Community Solutions does not have drop-in volunteer hours available for youth and teens. To help students meet their school requirements for community service hours, we do offer “home projects” including garage sales and drives benefitting Community Solutions. Prior to beginning a home project, youth and teens must contact Paige Day at paige.day@communitysolutions.org for project ideas, guidelines, and approval. Community Solutions is unable to accomodate court-ordered community service hours.

Volunteer Advocate for Domestic Violence/Sexual Assault/Human Trafficking Certified Volunteer Advocates are trained to provide prevention, education and outreach presentations; assist with legal advocacy and court accompaniment; provide peer support to survivors at Community Solutions’ confidential shelter; provide crisis-line support and provide in-person responses for survivors in crisis. Prior experience is not required. All Volunteer Advocates must complete a 65-hour Certification Training.

Next Volunteer Advocate Training will be held:

July 14, 2017 -- August 11, 2017 (9 days)

Every Friday: 8:30AM to 5PM and Saturday: 8AM to 4PM

Applications for this training are due by June 30, 2017
