Lacking a support system and appropriate care, 45-year-old Denise was struggling. She was not on proper medications for her depression and was hospitalized quite often. “My life was chaotic, and I did not have much direction,” she says.

Thanks to your compassionate support, Denise received the mental health care she needed and the structure that was missing in her life. With therapy, psychiatry and case management, Denise says that she feels like her former self again.

Being able to communicate her feelings and be honest in therapy was helpful for Denise, as was having her psychiatrist prescribe a new, effective medication. Today, Denise has increased overall productivity, feels more at peace, and is optimistic for the future.

“I have learned that there are genuinely good people in the world. I’ve learned, that by trusting my team, that I was able to get through most anything,” says Denise. “I have direction now. I have more motivation to be the person I want to be, the mother I want to be, the friend I want to be, and I’m trying not to be so self-absorbed. I have the desire to help other people.”

“Denise is excited to reconnect with her former self and no longer be known as the ‘crazy girl.’ She is great mother and is excited for her and her daughter’s future,” says her therapist.
